Proposition 320
Requires certain school districts to spend at least 60% of their budget on direct instructional expenses, without defining what "instructional expenses" are. Current definitions of "instructional expenses" exclude support staff, nurses, counselors, social workers, school resource officers, afterschool programming, and other necessary components in the school. This measure would force school districts to cut staff, programs, and resources from students (and potentially close schools). If a school district does not comply, funding they receive from the state for teacher pay would be cut, punishing our teachers.
- YES
- A YES vote would force school districts to spend 60% of their budget on "instructional expenses," resulting in cuts to staff, programs, resources, and school closures.
- NO
- A NO vote protects the integrity of school district, protecting staff, programs, and resources and preventing cuts to teacher pay and school closures.
Keep Arizona Blue Student Coalition recommends voting NO on Proposition 320 in Arizona.
